10. April 2010 - Air disaster of the governmental airplane Tupolew Tu-154M with the side number 101 in the vicinity of Smolensk-Siewiernyj
On 10 April 2010 Poland faced an unprecedented situation. The death of ninety-six passengers of the airplane near Smolensk struck the Polish nation suddenly and ruthlessly.
The air disaster claimed the death of President Lech Kaczynski and his spouse Maria and the accompanying delegation. Apart for the Presidential Pair and the ministers those who lost their life included the officials from the Presidential Bureau, Mr Ryszard Kaczorowski – the former President of the Republic of Poland in exile, members of the Katyn Families, and also members of Parliament, clergymen, soldiers, veterans, community activists, Government Protection Bureau officers and all of the crew.
They gave their life in the service of their home country on their way to the celebration of 70th anniversary of the Katyn crime.
Our funeral home was granted the honor of sharing in the arrangements for the return of all the victims of the Smolensk disaster from Moscow to Poland.
